Appointment: Nicole Naeve-Stoß

Prof. Dr Nicole Naeve-Stoß has been associate professor of business education, in particular designing of teaching- and learning-Processes, at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) since 1 August 2025.

Prof. Dr. Nicole Naeve-Stoß completed a banking apprenticeship at Deutsche Bank Bremen from 1 January 1998 to 1 January 2000 before beginning her degree course in teaching at upper secondary schools for vocational schools / business education at the University of Hamburg on 1 January 2001. She graduated on 1 January 2006 with a degree in business education. This was followed by a doctorate at the Institute of Business Education and Educational Management at the University of Hamburg, which she completed with distinction in 2013. From 2006 to 2015, she worked as a research associate at the Institute of Business Education and Educational Management at the University of Hamburg before moving to the University of Göttingen as a temporary academic advisor for one year.

In 2016, she received her first appointment to a university professorship at the University of Siegen in the field of educational sciences with a focus on ‘School and Teaching Development at Vocational Colleges’. One year later, she was appointed to her last position, the professorship for Business Education at the Institute for Vocational, Business and Social Education at the University of Cologne.

Research in the field of higher education didactics

Prof. Naeve-Stoß's research focuses on the development of business education curricula and teaching methods, as well as school development and higher education development. In addition, she researches and designs innovations and their transfer into vocational education. She pursues a design-oriented approach in her work.

Diversified teaching portfolio

Prof. Dr. Nicole Naeve-Stoß has a diverse teaching portfolio at Bachelor, Master and Doctoral level and has extensive experience in independent teaching in a business education context and in executive education. In her teaching, she emphasises the connection between science, practice and the learning subjects. The testing and further development of innovative teaching and learning methods is a central concern of hers.
